DH Spoiler: 'Pale and still'

WARNING! DH SPOILERS!






She could not feel; her body felt limp and her vision became blurred. As Tonks lay over the dead body of her husband, her heart sunk to the bottom of her stomach. Her hand sought warmth beneath his, but all she felt was the rough skin of his hand, ice cold.
Grasping tightly at his robes, she let out a sob. But Dolohov showed mercy, and in a bright flash of emerald green, everything was gone. Her grip on his clothes slackened, her head lolled onto his shoulder; the Lupins were no more.



Okay, so that didn't actually happen, but this is how I pictured them to be found in a random corridor at Hogwarts. I had to explain how they got into that position, hence the small spontaneous writing above. What was actually written was:

"As Ginny and Hermione moved closer to the rest of the family, Harry had a clear view of the bodies lying next to Fred: Remus and Tonks, pale and still and peaceful-looking, apparently asleep beneath the dark, enchanted ceiling." - Page 531 of the Adult UK Edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

This was a sketch that I intended to be much better, but really, all I wanted to get across to you guys was how peaceful I actually imagined them to look when they died. Due to their position, I think I've done that quite well. Forgive me for how horrible Remus looks: I suck at drawing men. No critique please.

I can't express to you in words how depressed I am that Remus and Tonks are dead. How they both died - both - shortly after giving birth to Ted. Remus has been my favourite character since PoA, and to be honest, it makes me feel better that he was one of JKR's favourites too. I was praying throughout the whole series that he wouldn't die, but alas, JKR killed off many of her favourite characters.

Rest in Peace, Mr. and Mrs. Lupin. And please forgive me for the crappy drawing of you.
